Heavy Duty Vehicles (J1939 and J1708)

Most heavy duty vehicles will have a round 9-ppin deutsch connector, depending on the age of the vehicle it may have a 6 pin. There are two potential protocols, J1939 and J1708. Below you will find the pin-out information for each along with their respective harness.

The new firmware release enables GO4v3, GO5 and GO6 devices with a 9-pin HD harness to support both J1708 and J1939 protocols simultaneously. In previous versions of firmware, a device installed in a vehicle with dual J1708 and J1939 protocols was limited to logging fault data from the J1939 bus only. The new firmware allows devices installed in vehicles with dual J1708/J1939 protocols to log J1708 faults also.
