The vehicle is moving from the speed zone before it communicates with the server where the posted road speed is checked. The device must connect a second time for the alert to be triggered on the device in the vehicle. At 70 mph the vehicle may be several miles further before the driver is alerted. Adding the ProPlus service provides much faster results. This increases the communication rate with the server so the violation is recognized and sent back to the vehicle much more quickly than the standard rate used for Pro service. Communication in ProPlus takes place about every 20 seconds compared to every few minutes in Pro mode.
